Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress boosts industrial digital security in its 5th edition
The Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress (BCC) closed its fifth edition with a positive balance after bringing together over 70 exhibiting companies, 25% more than in 2023, which have shown professionals, companies and businesses the latest developments and solutions to curb or minimize the risk of suffering cyber attacks in an increasingly interconnected world.
The Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress, jointly organized by Fira de Barcelona and the Agència de Ciberseguretat de Catalunya (ACC), showcased the activities of leading companies such as Anomali, Cloudflare, Crowdstrike, Forcepoint, Fortinet ManageEngine, Palo Alto Networks, Sentinel One, SoSafe, Telefónica Tech and Threatlocker.
Held alongside IOT Solutions World Congress, the leading international event on the transformation of industry through disruptive technologies, both events brought together around 11,000 visitors at the Gran Via venue between May 21 and 23.
BCC structured its content around the major challenges facing companies and industries in the midst of digital transformation and in the context of an increase in EU regulatory measures on cybersecurity for companies and institutions. Along these lines, Threat Intelligence and Surveillance, Robust Security Measures, Employee Training and Awareness, Compliance Management Solutions, Data Governance and Privacy, and Technology for Regulation were the main topics of this edition.
In addition, in its conference program and under the curation of the International Society of Automation (ISA), more than 60 sessions were held with the participation of speakers such as Andrew Rose, director of security at SoSafe; Daniele Molteni, product manager at Cloudflare; Tom Liston, CEO of Bad Wolf Security; and Steve Mustard, former president of ISA and independent automation consultant.
Ethical hackers
In its fifth edition, the event featured a Hacking Village with workshops and activities, including several ethical hacking competitions and the Acces2Market activity, jointly organized by the Agència de Ciberseguretat de Catalunya, the Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE) and the European Cybersecurity Competence Center (ECCC), which has put information security officers (CISOs) in contact with various companies and suppliers of products related to health and cybersecurity infrastructures.
The next edition of BCC will take place from May 13 to 15, 2025 at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue.
